TRANSPONDER BYPASS. The SCIBORG AS-131 is a bypass kit for modern vehicles equipped with transponder-based factory immobilizers. Transponder systems use a tiny chip embedded in the vehicle's key. When the key is inserted in the ignition, an RF signal is sent from the key to an RF receiver near the keyswitch. If the code is correct, the vehicle can be started. If codes don't match, it's impossible to start the engine. In such vehicles, a remote start system like the SCIBORG 825K will not work until the factory security is bypassed.

NOTE: The AS-131 bypasses "RF transponder" systems only. It will not bypass VATS, PATS, PassKey or PassLock.

HOW IT WORKS. The AS-131 requires an original transponder key from your vehicle. (You can obtain another key from your dealer at a nominal expense to you.) Your key is inserted inside the AS-131 control module as shown in the photo below. The AS-131 transmits the RF code from your vehicle's key each time you remote start. Your vehicle's factory security system is fully when remote start is not in use.
